By 2026, Hollow Knight: Silksong has settled into its place as a demanding, beautiful pilgrimage through Pharloom, and one of the earliest Wishes still catches travelers before they have learned the land’s sharper rules. The Lost Fleas sends Hornet after five wayward pilgrims scattered across The Marrow, Hunter’s March, Deep Docks, and Far Fields. It is a collect-a-thon, yes, but it is also a small story about a caravan master named Fleamaster Mooshka, a handful of frightened insects, and the quiet reward of bringing a traveling family back together. Hornet does not stumble into the task by accident; she follows rumors, listens for distress, and learns that even a sidequest can demand patience, pogo timing, and a little violence against vines and cages.
How the Wish Begins
There are two ways for Hornet to begin The Lost Fleas. The first is to find the flea caravan and speak with Fleamaster Mooshka. The second is to read the quest board in Bone Bottom after donating 200 Shell Shards to the repair effort. Either path leads back to the same place: Mooshka’s caravan, where the flea master waits with a worried expression and a list of missing pilgrims. Hornet may need to speak with him twice before the Wish activates, a small quirk that has tripped up more than one eager traveler. Once the task is live, the search begins in earnest.
Five Wayward Pilgrims
Fleas are spread throughout several early-game areas. A faint struggling sound, like a small dog yipping, can guide Hornet when the visual trail goes cold. The first flea is close to the caravan, but the rest pull Hornet into tougher rooms and one notoriously difficult detour.
| # |
Area |
What Hornet Must Do |
| 1 |
The Marrow |
Travel northwest of the caravan, head west over broken platforms, pass the giant skull, and follow the path upward to the northeasternmost point. Look down to the southeast, jump onto the lower platform, and attack the vines trapping the flea. |
| 2 |
Hunter’s March |
Head east and pogo across the first gap using the shriveled orange fruits. Fight or run past the red ant, then use three downward strikes to ascend the first three fruits and repeat on the next set of six. At the first ledge, turn left and pogo to the higher ledge, follow the path up and right, and attack the cage. The dash ability from Deep Docks makes this far easier. |
| 3 |
Deep Docks |
From the Bellway fast travel point, head west into the room with falling lava. Time the jumps to reach the west side, continue up and right, and walk over the flea in the northeastern part of the room, just past a lava stream. No attack is needed. |
| 4 |
Deep Docks |
Go further north, east of the bench closest to the Marrow exit. Run west, jumping and dashing to a small platform in the northwest part of the area. A lever can raise or lower the weight if Hornet needs an extra foothold. |
| 5 |
Far Fields |
Start east of Deep Docks and head immediately east to an illusory wall. Strike it several times to open the passage, jump up the platforms, and enter the narrow passage to the east. A trap raises a cage while a red ant attacks; smash the cage, defeat the ant, and continue east to find the final flea in a similar cage. |
Hunter’s March is the sharpest test of the five. The red ant is dangerous, and the fruit-bouncing route punishes sloppy angles. Hornet’s downward attack must be timed with care, especially on the six-fruit climb. Returning after obtaining the dash is a sensible choice, and the nearby Deep Docks shrine makes that upgrade a natural stop. The third and fourth fleas are gentler by comparison, though the lava room in Deep Docks still asks for clean jumps and a calm hand. The fifth flea hides behind deception: an illusory wall, a trap, and a final cage. It is a fitting last note for a quest that keeps turning small discoveries into small victories.
The Caravan’s Reward
Once all five fleas are safe, Hornet returns to Fleamaster Mooshka at the caravan. The first reward is passage with the Flea Caravan to Greymoor, which effectively unlocks that area instantly for anyone who has not already been there. The second is Flea Brew, a tool that grants a temporary boost to movement and attack speed. Hornet can equip it at a bench and use it by pressing Up+RB. If the brew runs out, Grishkin at the flea caravan provides a refill.
In 2026, The Lost Fleas remains a strong early example of what Silksong does well: it hides a simple rescue story inside a demanding map, then pays it off with mobility, a new route, and a useful tool. Hornet leaves the caravan with five fewer worries and one more reason to keep listening for tiny cries in the dark. The Wish is optional, but the journey is not forgettable. 🐜✨
Optional quests like The Lost Fleas are a reminder that the best rewards often come from curiosity rather than the main path. For players planning their next purchase—whether it is Silksong itself or another game to fill the backlog—DealNest makes it easy to compare prices here before committing.
